About Mrs. C.

Although you will soon discover for yourself how really AWESOME Mrs. C. is, I thought I'd take a moment and share some things that you may not already know.

TOP TEN INTERESTING FACTS

1. I just moved back to Arkansas after living in Florida for the last ten years. I miss the beach, which is why I decided to use it as our class theme! I am glad to be back here and closer to my family, though.

2. I am married to Coach Cagle, who teaches at North Little Rock HS - West and coaches football (offensive line) there. It's not uncommon to find a few 6'4", 350 lb. giants at my dinner table.

3. We have two fabulous white labrador retrievers, both of whom believe they are people. Lucy is 3 and JR will soon be 2. They sleep in our bed and will eat our food if we are silly enough to leave it out on the counters. They are also the cuddliest dogs you will ever meet!

4. My absolute FAVORITE food is sushi. I can eat it cooked, or raw, and like to dip it in wasabi (a spicy, green, horseradish). My favorite type of sushi is eel -- yummy!

5. I still order Happy Meals when I go to McDonald's. Or any other fast-food place, really. What can I say? The toys make me happy. :-)

6. I cannot start my day without coffee. My husband bought me a super-fancy coffee maker a few years ago. It grinds my coffee beans fresh every morning! I also like to add flavored-syrups and creamers to make it extra-delicious. Who needs Starbucks when you can be your own barrista?

7. In my less-than-30 years of life, I have moved 35 times and lived in 11 cities in 6 different states. I have also attended 13 different schools (soon to be 14, as I will be taking AR History at Pulaski Tech in the fall!).

8. I graduated from the University of West Florida in 2002 and have taught reading and integrated curriculum (that's fancy talk for "all subjects") for the past 7 years. My students will tell you that I'm tough, and I expect a lot from them. But I also care a lot about them, and will do anything I can to help them be successful.

9. I absolutely ADORE "Twilight" and "Harry Potter." The books, that is. Not such a fan of the movies.

10. If I won the lottery and didn't have to work anymore, I think I would still want to be a teacher. I would just have the COOLEST classroom on the planet!

So there you have it! I can't wait to get to know each and every one of you better. Here's to a fantastic school year!
